Training FAQ

How long does it take to get certified?

The absolute minimum is three days (not counting the time it takes to complete the eLearning portion before the physical class starts). The three day class would look something like this: Day one - complete class portion and first pool session. Day two- complete second pool session and first three checkout dives. Day three- complete the final checkout dive and receive your Open Water certification! This by no means is a guarantee to finish in three days. If you are not progressing comfortably during the pool phase, we will not move onto checkout dives until you are ready.

Do I need to buy equipment for the course?

You do not need to buy ANY gear while completing ANY course through LCD.

Do you sell dive gear?

I no longer sell dive gear..... purposely. There are a few great places to buy gear in town or online. I'll be happy to point you in multiple, unbiased directions.

Do you fill or inspect tanks?

When I closed down the dive shop, I donated the Bauer and cascade system to a local Scout troop for their dive program. My little Alkin is perfect for those occasional instruction fills, but would not support air fills on a commercial basis.  I'll be happy to point you in the right direction for fills, inspections, and hydros.

What are your business hours?
